Laser periodontal disinfection and rejuvenation is bactericidal and can reduce bacterial load in the gums, it also increases gum health and cellular repair. It is calibrated for biostimulation and does not cut the tissues; thus, no local anaesthesia is required and recovery is almost immediate.

Laser assisted periodontal surgery is a procedure that removes infected gum tissue, and helps in regeneration of periodontal tissue (using laser FDA cleared for regeneration), the laser power setting is calibrated to remove only diseased tissue and requires local anaesthesia to perform.

Could I take Tylenol instead of Ibuprofen?

Yes, if you prefer you can take Tylenol. They both work for pain control. Ibuprofen has an additional anti-inflammatory component. Most of our laser treated patients have only needed to take the pain medications the day of procedure starting in the morning for a pain-free experience. Depending on the procedure, take your pain medications according to your doctor’s instructions.

My gums just had surgery, how do I keep my teeth clean?

Only brush teeth, try not to agitate the gums, your doctor will assist you to further clean it at the 1 week post-operative visit.
